Not my own, or at least not for this post, but of my blog.
I have no idea if many people even look at my actual blog. When I read blogs I use an RSS feed reader, so I don’t often see the page itself. I’m using WordPress as my host/blog designer but can’t find a theme that I find adequate. Many of them are fine, and it sure is a very simple way to have your own domain name without having to do very much. WordPress manages everything very nicely.
But…I long for more control. I want to be able to adjust the widths of the columns, change around colors, add more features!
Maybe that will be a project this summer. Zach already has hosting capabilities that I could just latch on to, or I could pay extra to mess around with WordPress, and I have a bit of experience with CSS. It seems like it could be very feasible.
Next, I just need to get Photoshop!

I’m frustrated too, but I’ve changed mine enough to know that I can get lost for weeks in making the changes! I am waiting for a few sleepless nights to get started.
BTW, you should consider reading your feeds in Mozilla’s Thunderbird. It is an email client (like Outlook), but I can actually see the pages of 95% of my feeds, and I can view comments too, without clicking over. I think it is far superior to Google Reader.
That is the reason I haven’t moved to WordPress. I am fully capable (when I have time) of tweaking things like crazy in Blogger, but WP makes me pay for the privilege of staying up all night doing crazy things to my layout. If I’m going to get involved in a major time suck, I’d rather do it for free. Expecially since I never seem to actually finish.
I love WP. I used Blogger before and I find that I can do so much more with WP. It does take time to figure everything out though…
You made an interesting point about RSS feeds. I think one of the reasons I’ve resisted RSS is because I can’t see the whole page and I love seeing the design, the sidebars, the photos of the author’s face, etc. Strange, but true.
