This is part 6 in my Thursday Thirteen series, getting me up to 104 things about me!
Allison’s Thursday Thirteen: Part 6
1. I cry at the drop of the hat. This wasn’t always the case, but I cry during movies and TV shows all the time now.
2. I have always dreamed of having two children: a boy and then a girl. So far so good!
3. I wanted to be an Astronaut for a while growing up. Quite frankly, I still think that would be an amazing career! (But I don’t have the brains for it!)
4. I grew up watching TV Land. As such, I grew up watching shows that most of my generation doesn’t talk about.
5. I won a spelling bee once. It was pure luck.
6. I wear glasses. I got them in 9th grade and was told to only wear them when I needed to see things that were far away (the chalk board or a movie).
7. I used to play Ultimate Frisbee.
8. I really enjoy a nice cold beer. As long as it’s not too “hoppy” I will probably love it! My favorite beer (I think…) is Magic Hat #9.
9. I want to travel the world extensively. There are very few places that I don’t have a lot of interest in visiting.
10. I have had two manicures and one pedicure. In my entire life.
11. I could watch the movies “Knocked Up” and “Juno” over and over again. I saw Knocked Up when I was, ::ahem::, knocked up, so it was extremely fitting for my life at that point.
12. I am Irish. And Russian. And a bunch of other things. My Irish side shows itself the most, though.
13. I am not religious.

Fun list! I’ve had one manicure and never had a pedicure in my life. There’s just something about strangers touching my feet that weirds me out lol Happy T13!

Let’s see here….
I have a pedicure every month, don’t have the desire to visit very many places, wear glasses, like dark beer, 1/16th Irish, love Jesus, but am not religious either.
I like you!

I loved both pedicures I’ve had. Especially the massage and the hot rocks.
Sounds like we’d like the same TV shows. I saw them when they were originally on.
Great post!
Come by and see my trip to the lake.

I just found your site through Jen’s (jayesel) Twitter. I think I found my long lost twin — personality wise anyway.
I’m from Johnstown — Windber, actually, but no one knows where that is — and I was wondering if Magic Hat is just a local thing? I have never heard of it before, yet it was recommended for a picnic I had last week. I can’t have it because of my allergies, so I guess it’s good? We bought #9, but Circus Freak (I think??) was also recommended.
I’m glad I found your site it’s great!

Here’s mine . . .

One pedicure?!?! Serious? I must have a pretty pedi to wear sandals. Now in the winter I don’t go as often but still only one…I can’t imagine.
So now that I’ve said that, I’m not very religious either and most of the other parents are VERY religious so it gets weird sometimes. And I’ve found that a lot of bloggers are too! Don’t get me wrong I believe in God but I don’t want to be preached to ya’ know.
Finally, I cry at commercials and hate beer. :-]
Thanks for stopping by & Happy T13!

Very nice! I’ve never had a manicure or pedicure…people who live in and near cities think I’m bizarre when I tell them that LOL. I love knocked up too, thought it was soooo funny. I haven’t seen Juno yet..but my oldest daughter told me it was really good..ill have to rent it when it comes out on DVD. Great list!!!

Me too. I wanted one boy and one girl. However, I currently have one boy and four girls. So much for that plan. I don’t do manicures and pedicures either – too expensive, and I could really care less.

I used to play ultimate too!! That is how I met my husband – we played on a social club team in our area. Great group of friends, 3 couples were married from the team. We tended to focus a little more on the social part and less on the winning part….
Happy TT!

Ahh, I love beer! Mostly good dark stouts and lager! I’m also part Irish (on my mom’s side, not a ton but her surname is Irish). I also cry easily and watched TV Land a lot as a kid!

I am with you in half your list. I actually was missing TVLAND so bad the other night, I looked up Nick At Night on the internet, and guess what shows I found…Home Improvement, Full House, Fresh Prince! Man did that make me feel old! What happend to Mr. Ed and Mary Tyler Moore?

Great list … the crying … it could be (honestly – don’t push it aside too much) post-partem. But it could be just being a mommy and how life changes and different things affect you in different ways – getting used to the new mommy side of yourself is a big adjustment. I am still realizing new limits I never knew I had (and I didn’t have them before babies) – my personality changed significantly!
I had post-partem and didn’t realize until years later. I was preggie 6 months after my first and after the second – I was a WRECK for about 1 year, maybe more – it’s all a total blur!!!!!!!!!

Allison, it was good to get to know you! I do have a few things in common with you…I cry VERY easily as well. And I have a lot of Irish in my family tree…in fact, I’ve always dreamed of going to Ireland.

Hi there…I heard we might be meeting over at Karen’s this weekend, so I thought I’d stop by to see your “place”.
I also cry at the drop of a hat.
I’m also Irish and Russian (ok, technically Lithuanian)…didn’t realize there were too many of us out there with that mix.
Your boy is adorable…my youngest boy is about 6 weeks older, although I think your Alex may be taller. I’m looking forward to having another little guy over at Karen’s place.
